• Purpose
According to the advice of Ovadacariya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Gandasara of
Saddhavimotta Monastery in South Ward 10, Thakayta Township, Yangon
Division, a Hnakyeik Shitsu Zeditaw (The Temple of 28-Buddhas),
which will bear a resemblance to Shwedagon Pagoda and having a height of
(67) feet (6) inches, will be built for public obeisance. The temple
will have one archway in all four directions north, east, south, west in
reference to birth, attainment enlightenment, the preaching of Dhammacakka Discourse and demise". Seven Buddha
Statues who had already attained enlightenment will be kept side by side
in each of the archways making a total of 28 Buddha Statues for four
archways in four directions. The temple will be built with cash and kind
donations pooled by people from all walks of life in a secluded and
tranquil environment in order that the devotees can practice the kind of
meditation they prefer in front of the Buddha Statues, relevant to the
days on which they were born.

• Permission
According to the Directive No.77, issued by the
State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, permission has been granted for
construction of the Temple at the plenary meeting of Hmawbi Township
Sangha Nayaka on 17th January 2003.

• Charitable
Donation

2000 US Dollars for each of 28 Buddhas Statues,
inclusive of Gandhakuti Chamber.

1200 US Dollars for 28 Buddha Stupas in
resemblance to Buddha Stupas having names given by Celestial King.

1800 US Dollars for each of four archways

1000 US Dollars for each concerete staircase at
four archways

24 US Dollars for each foot of the main central
concrete pillar of the temple

concrete flooring

(b) 5 US Dollars for one kyin (sudrum) of sand
(c) 25 US Dollars for one sudrum of gravel
(d) 0.025 US Dollars for one piece of brick
(e) 0.25 US Dollars for one slab of marble

enshrine jewellery can also be donated through contact with the
committee for temple construction
